SatishChandran is a biotechnology veteran with nearly 30+ years in leadership positions at early and mid-stage biotech, and at large pharmaceutical companies where he has formed. He has led teams to develop novel concepts into commercially viable products. Satish has been a serial entrepreneur over the last nearly 30+ years. He founded and led several biotech companies, and at leadership positions at large pharma (Pfizer and Wyeth) brings additional large pharmaceutical experience to the team in vaccines, drugs, biologics and medical devices.Lay Sciences is his latest venture focused on advancing novel technologies into late-stage commercial ready products.
Satish is the founding Director, President and CEO of Lays Sciences, and concurrently is also the CEO and Director of Prodigy Bio. Prior to Lay Sciences, he was the was the Chief Technology Officer, President and Chief Operating Officer of Marizyme, following the acquisition of Somahlution – a medical device company that he founded, and where he served as its Director and CEO.Prior to Somahlution, Satish was the Chief Technology Officer at Pfizer Biotherapeutics (OTU), and the CSO and COO of Nucleonics-an RNAi-based therapeutics company he founded and previously Satish headed the DNA vaccine division of Wyeth Vaccines (now Pfizer Vaccines).
In addition to his tenure in Pharma and biotech he served as faculty at several universities and research institutions; Thomas JeffersonUniversity as Associate professor, Professor at IHVR (Institute for Hepatitis and Virus Research – now Blumberg Institute) and Professor at North Dakota State University, and also serves as a Board member and Advisor to several biotech companies.

He has held Executive and Leadership positions at Parke-Davis in Ann Arbor, AtheroGenics in Atlanta (VP Drug Discovery), Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories (Global Chief Scientific Officer, US, and India), and Kareus Therapeutics (CEO). He has a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Memorial University and Post-doctoral training at Columbia University. He was associated with the Team at Parke-Davis/Pfizer that discovered Lipitor/atorvastatin, the largest selling (peak sales of $17 billion dollars) drug in the pharma business. His expertise is in identifying new drug ideas and bringing them towards the market. He is one of the few executives who combine excellence in science as well as the business side of pharma including being part of a start-up which was successfully listed on wall street (AtheroGenics Inc @ NASDAQ). He serves as an Expert review member/Mentor to several CSIR, DST, DBT and University of Hyderabad panels amongst others.
He is a well-known speaker in International and National platforms and recipient of academic and Industry honors. He has published more than 60 papers and been granted/filed international 31patents. He has also published books on cricket, entrepreneurship and COVID that are sold on amazon.
